El peculiar mundo de la competición

El mundo de la competición es algo que llama la atención a muchos, pero a veces por desconocimiento, vergüenza o falta de preparación no se atreven a dar el paso. Hoy os voy a hablar de la categoría Bikini Fitness, esta modalidad es actualmente junto con la men’s physique, la que atrae a mayor cantidad de público. No pierde la esencia del culturismo pero la gente ve, según dicen, cuerpos más «naturales, bonitos, y proporcionados». Los chicos y chicas que componen estas categorías de competición están clasificados como los mejores físicos y desde luego generan admiraciones.

Llegar a competir no es una decisión que puedas tomar a la ligera, va a condicionar tu vida, ganarás mucho, pero también perderás otras cosas. Es una estupenda forma de medir tus límites y ver de qué eres capaz, aprender mucho y poner al límite tu disciplina y autocontrol.

Una chica bikini no tiene una rutina tan diferente a la de un hombre o una Figure, pero si se deben tener en cuenta algunos aspectos a los que los jueces dirigen sus miradas a la hora de calificar. A continuación recojo una serie de consejos que debes tener en cuenta tanto si estás pensando en competir por primera vez como si ya tienes experiencia.

  • ASPECTO. Potencia tus piernas y glúteos, pero siempre buscando una proporción con los hombros. Tienes que presentar un cuerpo duro, fuerte y con aspecto claramente atlético, pero siempre siendo femenino y elegante.
  • POSES. Ensaya las poses, la presencia en el escenario es fundamental. Debes practicar día tras día hasta tenerlo perfectamente pulido. En ocasiones dos físicos muy similares se pueden diferenciar por la actitud de cada una frente al público y siempre pase lo que pase, SONRIE.
  • PREPARACION. Asegúrate de estar preparada física y mentalmente, el proceso es largo y muy complicado, la dieta pre-competición puede durar 4 semanas o incluso 20, dependiendo de cuánto necesites ajustar. Por otro lado tienes que ser consciente de que hablarán de ti y te criticarán. Te van a juzgar duramente sin conocerte, únicamente por tu físico y para enfrentarte a eso debes tener una imagen positiva de ti misma, creer en ti y tener la autoestima en su punto.
  • RENUNCIAS. Renunciarás a ciertas cosas, la preparación de una competición es infinitamente sacrificada, ya no podrás permitirte esos caprichos los fines de semana, si sales a cenar a un bar no encontrarás nada compatible con tu dieta, te llamarán «bicho raro» o te dirán, por un día no pasa nada, si pasa… Puedes llegar a sentirte solo, cuando tus amigos, familiares o compañeros de trabajo no entiendan lo que estás haciendo.

  • GASTOS. Deberías contratar los servicios de un entrenador personal, preparador, míster… llámalo como quieras, aquel profesional que sepa lo que hace con tu dieta  entrenamiento, que sepa llevarte a ese extremo incluso que te acompañe el día de la competición si es posible. Al precio del entrenador, súmale el gasto en suplementos deportivos, los multivitamínico, proteína, glutamina, BCAA’s… será un alimento más de tu cocina. Y el gasto de desplazarte a competir fuera de tu comunidad o país.
  • BIKINI Y COMPLEMENTOS. Otro aspecto es el bikini y complementos, no es precisamente barato, existen webs y personas especializadas en el diseño de bikinis reglamentarios de competición, para el que no esperes desembolsar menos de 100/150 euros y por ese precio muy poca cosa conseguirías. Además tendrás que comprar zapatos reglamentarios (max 1 cm plataforma delantera y 12 cm tacón), pulseras, pendientes, anillos, etc. Por supuesto no te olvides de pelo, uñas, maquillaje… y si luego quieres una foto de recuerdo en la tarima es muy probable que también tengas que pagársela al fotógrafo autorizado.
  • DERROTA. Asimila la derrota, es muy probable que tus primeras veces no ganes, aun queda mucho por aprender, es otro aspecto que también tendrás que aprender a asimilar. No bases tu preparación en la victoria, disfruta del proceso, llega al escenario orgullosa de tus progresos y muéstralos de la mejor manera posible, así incluso la derrota tendrá un sabor agridulce.
  • ANONIMATO. Dejarás de ser una persona anónima, tu nombre y datos personales estarán registrados en listas y por tanto se te podrá encontrar en los buscadores de internet, además por su puesto del material fotográfico.
  • ALTIBAJOS. No te desanimes, vas a tener altibajos, momentos en los que te comerás las mancuernas y otros en los que no te apetecerá salir de la cama, pero no puedes elegir, «no te lo puedes permitir» tienes que salir y entrenar. Por tu cabeza pasarán ideas como que no vas a llegar bien, que no estás tan bien como otras chicas, que te sobra grasa, tu entrenador te pondrá las pilas… no importa busca tus puntos fuertes, agárrate a ellos, céntrate únicamente en lo positivo y CONTINUA!
  • DISFRUTA EL MOMENTO. Disfruta y conoce gente en la competición, conocer gente con tus mismos intereses te servirá de motivación a medida que pasa el tiempo, no te cierres y habla con el resto de chicas, no muerden. Estar tras el escenario aislada, con una actitud hostil y encerrada en ti misma te cerrará las puertas a conocer grandes personas de las que puedes aprender mucho y te aseguro que a ellas no tendrás que explicarles por que comes pollo hervido a las 11 de la mañana, a diferencia de tus amigos y familiares ellas si lo entenderán ya que también lo hacen.
  • JUECES. Pide opinión y respeta a los jueces. Escúchales con respeto, te ayudará mucho a la hora de preparar tu siguiente vez, te parezca justo o no el resultado es su valoración y la única válida. Recoge lo que te digan, interprétalo, asúmelo y trabaja en ello. No pierdas tiempo en enfadarte, cuestionar la decisión y criticar, mejor invierte ese tiempo en seguir progresando.
  • EFECTO REBOTE. Cuidado con las comidas trampa tras el evento, es normal que tu cuerpo te pida una pizza, bombones o hamburguesas nada más terminar, pero no te pases, contrólate porque el efecto rebote puede ser tremendo.

  • PIERDE EL MIEDO. No tengas miedo, nunca he visto que rechacen o bajen del escenario a una chica «por muy mal que esté». No te van a criticar cuando te inscribas, no se burlarán de ti, todos son atletas y siempre mantienen un respeto. Simplemente te clasificarán por edad, experiencia o altura, pero no te preocupes por saber dónde te va a tocar los jueces lo harán por ti.
  • COLOR DE PIEL. Intenta tener cierto tono moreno natural ya que será más fácil aplicar el tinte, aunque no es imprescindible. Existen varios tipos y marcas de tintes, cada uno se aplica de una forma diferente y pese a que tienen tonos «parecidos» debes elegir el que mejor le siente a tu cuerpo. Necesitarás ayuda para aplicarlo, así que cuenta con tu pareja, amigos o entrenador para ello.
  • OBJETOS PERSONALES. El día de la competición debes llevar algunos elementos ante algún imprevisto, como imperdibles, hilo y aguja, maquillaje, espejo, toalla, tijeras, incluso una cartulina y rotulador por si pierdes el número que te identifica.

Quiero hacer una pequeña conclusión fuera de lo normal, hasta ahora hemos visto los aspectos que necesitas como competidora, ahora quiero mostrarte los que necesitas como persona.

  • Se fiel a ti misma, hay un gran trabajo que no se ve en el escenario, sacrificio de meses o incluso años. Puedes comenzar a competir ahora y te traten como una novata cuando llevas toda la vida en ello, entrenando y preparando gente aunque tu no hayas subido a la tarima. No pasa nada, escucha a todo el mundo, ya te conocerán si tienen que hacerlo. Siéntete orgullosa de haber llegado hasta ahí, muchos no tienen valor para subirse al escenario.
  • Cuida tu salud y no te dejes manipular, no todo el mundo vale para este deporte.
  • MUESTRA ESPÍRITU DEPORTIVO, SE AMABLE Y HUMILDE. Todos los competidores tenemos una historia detrás, más dura o menos, pero una historia de la cual no sabes nada. Si una compañera necesita que le ajustes el bikini ayúdala, si necesita maquillaje préstaselo o si se encuentra mal tiéndele tu mano.
